COVID-19 Wage Subsidy Payment

Message from the Ministry of Social Development:

The Government has put together a COVID-19 Wage Subsidy Payment for eligible employers across Aotearoa. It’s to support your business if you’re impacted by COVID-19 because of the current situation.

While we are working through the finer details of the wage subsidy scheme, we thought we’d let you know that, from Friday 9 am 20 August 2021, eligible businesses including self-employed people/contractors can apply for the wage subsidy. Our website, COVID-19 Wage Subsidy August 2021 announced – Work and Income is regularly updated with relevant information. 

We’ll touch base with you as soon as we have more information on the wage subsidy. 

You may also be able to Apply for the Resurgence Support Payment (RSP) (http://ird.govt.nz)via the Inland Revenue website. There’s more information you can find on COVID-19 Resurgence Support Payment (RSP) (http://ird.govt.nz)
