Northern Corridor Improvements Project – Speed Review Consultation

Northern Corridor Improvements Project – Speed Review Consultation – 30 August to 27 September

We are conducting a small speed review consultation on two short sections of SH18 just before it joins SH1 at Albany near Upper Harbour Highway to improve safety for road users. In one area, the improved design of the road can now support a higher speed limit from 80km/h to 100km/h without compromising safety. In a smaller 400m area, we are proposing to lower the speed limit from 80km/h to 50km/h due to the changes which include a more complex signalised intersection as well as an increase in people walking, cycling and scootering alongside the road corridor. The consultation will run for four weeks from 30 August to 27 September.

Have your say

Notification of this proposed speed review change will be shared via the project e news, emails to our neighbours and updated on the project website.
Please feel free to share via your local channels for people to provide their feedback.
The survey link will be live on the project webpage (www.nzta.govt.nz/nci ) on 30 August.
