📢IMPORTANT! Further Update from Auckland Emergency Management 📢
BNH is staying closely connected with Auckland Emergency Management (AEM) as they prepare for the potential impacts of Cyclone Vaianu. AEM has officially stood up in response to the developing weather system, and we’re working alongside them to ensure our community has timely updates and knows how to stay safe as conditions evolve.
❗It’s important that you stay informed and help others to know the latest information:
• Stay up to date with the AEM website https://zurl.co/EfwYR and AEM FB page https://zurl.co/iCkkE .
• Stay up to date with weather forecasts (MetService website https://zurl.co/jfeli ) and check Auckland Transport’s and NZTA’s journey planners for any public transport and roading disruption.
• Report stormwater issues and flooding to the council on 09 301 0101.
• If you are in danger or there is a serious risk to your property, phone 111 – don’t wait, natural warnings like rising floodwaters need to be acted on immediately.
❗If you are part of a Community Response Group or Community Emergency Hub (CEH) and decide to stand up for your local community, please complete the following process:
• Contact AEM’s Community Liaison at the Emergency Coordination Centre p: 027 410 7850 or e: akgeoccommunity@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz
• Alternatively call AEM’s priority number on 0800 22 22 00.
• Once you have stood up please complete a Status Update Report twice daily (morning and afternoon). This information will ensure we have situational awareness.
