2020/21 bus and ferry changes

Auckland Council is required to make cost savings following the COVID-19 pandemic and, as part of this, AT is reducing its public transport expenditure. This requires a reduction in some public transport service operations.

When these changes are implemented, AT will also make planned improvements to some bus and ferry services “providing better services to areas in need”.

New timetables for affected services will be available later in 2020, but some local changes include:

Removal of 890 bus service on Corinthian Drive, Albany from Monday, 25 January 2021. Having lobbied AT to provide this service, BNH is very disappointed with the decision to cut the service. There are legitimate concerns that, with the ongoing development, this area will become increasingly congested, especially since no additional parking is planned. As the situation develops, BNH would welcome comments from members.

A reduction in frequency for 842 (Smales Farm station to Crown Hill via East Coast Road) bus services from Monday, 25 January 2021

Additional ferry services for Hobsonville and Beach Haven from Sunday, 24 January 2021.
