Letter from Kevin O’Leary

Kia ora tatou,

The latest unprecedented weather event following shortly after the initial torrential rain of a couple of weeks ago, means that some members are going through really difficult times as a result of the two instances of flooding. It would appear that the majority of members have thankfully managed to avoid the devastation, but unfortunately there are some members who haven’t been so lucky. Below are some useful links which I hope may be of use.

Additionally, a Flooding Support Package will soon be made available which includes:

  • $3 million for flood recovery payments to help significantly affected businesses
  • $1 million for mental wellbeing support through a boost to the First Steps programme
  • $1 million for small business advice focused on business continuity and resilience

The money will be delivered through the Auckland Business Chamber, the EMA, Whāriki and the Pacific Business Trust. Right now, you can access First Steps, the Business Helpline on 0800 500 362 and join the online Business Community for free information, support and links to useful information.

Other information you may find useful includes:

I hope that you can avoid any further damage and disruption moving forwards, but if you have been affected, please don’t hesitate to contact BNH if you think that we can be of any assistance.

Ngā mihi mahana,

Kevin O’Leary

General Manager, Business North Harbour
