If you’re still parking in the city rather than taking the City Rail Link, chances are pretty good you’re choosing Downtown Carpark. Well, we have a bit of good news for you today. 

The carpark was expected to close for redevelopment in early 2027, but owner Precinct Properties has put its skyscraper plans on hold.  

Rising construction costs and higher interest rates have made the project financially unviable for now. Instead, the company will keep the carpark operating, with no new closure date announced.
