Free Health Check: BNH Warrant of Fitness Day 2024

18th October

National Hockey Stadium, 159 Bush Road, Rosedale

Just minutes after doors opened, the National Hockey Stadium’s main function room was full of guests keen to take advantage of the numerous health services represented at this event.

This was BNH’s second annual WOF Health Check Day and, once again, was run in collaboration with Asian Family Services. Health providers in attendance ran the gamut of physical and mental wellbeing – everyone from Well Women & Family to Prostate Cancer NZ, Allergy NZ to Ember Korowai Takitini, and Age Concern to Plunket.

Not only was the function room full of people, there was also a buzz of vibrant, positive energy. Visitors engaged in meaningful conversations with service providers, discussing the results of the various tests and scans being offered and picking up useful leaflets and advice, which could also be shared with friends and whānau.

To further encourage guests to tap into as many organisations as possible, there was a prize draw for those who received a full quota of stamps on their registration sheet.

BNH marketing and events manager Bernadette Roberts comments, “We were delighted to see so many visitors on Friday. Too often, we prioritise servicing vehicles or other equipment but neglect our most valuable asset: ourselves. It, therefore, feels gratifying to  hold an event like this for BNH members. Many thanks to Asian Family Services for being our partners on this most worthwhile day.”

Reminder: this event was only intended to provide visitors with information about their own health that could act as a diagnostic tool. If a patient/client is concerned about their health, BNH recommends they contact their GP or relevant healthcare provider. The choice to receive a vaccination or not remains entirely voluntary.
