Business North Harbour’s latest Networking and Nibbles event provided members with the opportunity to connect, learn and explore one of the North Shore’s newest community-focused businesses, Livewell.
Guests were welcomed by Katie Noble, who shared the story behind the Livewell concept and how it evolved from Allied Medical, a trusted supplier of mobility and rehabilitation equipment to healthcare providers and individuals across New Zealand.
Katie explained that Livewell represents the company’s first dedicated retail store, designed to bring its expertise directly to consumers in a welcoming, lifestyle-focused environment, because “most people, as they age, want to stay living in their own home,” she said.
The store has been created to help older adults and their families access products, advice and support that enable them to live safely and independently for longer. Katie emphasised that education and guidance are central to the Livewell approach.
“There is no hard sell here. We want people to learn about what they need, and what they can do to be safe living in their home,” she said.
Beyond its retail offering, Livewell has been designed as a community hub. The facility includes two meeting rooms that local community groups can use free of charge, creating a space where people can connect and support one another.
“We’re very focused on people coming in here to use Livewell, so they can actually communicate with other people. That’s really important to us,” Katie told attendees.
Katie also outlined plans for the upcoming Livewell Speaker Series.
The Living Well Talks Speaker Series is a free expert-led talk for older adults in Auckland’s North Shore to learn, connect, and stay independent. This will feature expert presentations aimed at older adults and their families. Topics will include staying safe at home, memory care, reverse mortgages, and cybersecurity, with ‘Geeks on Wheels’ recently confirmed to share practical advice on staying safe online.
The quick-fire 60-second business and product plug session was delivered by Vicky Song from betaForm.solutions®, Markus McIver from Virtuoso and Amali Fonseka from Accounting Focus Ltd
The event offered Business North Harbour members valuable networking opportunities while showcasing a business dedicated to supporting independence, wellbeing and community connection on the North Shore.
