To begin, here’s a quick recap of how these awards came about.

During their site visits and conversations, BNH’s ambassadors repeatedly uncovered local businesses doing amazing things every day –sustainability, innovation, entrepreneurial spirit, and extraordinary resilience in these challenging times.

And yet, there seemed to be a reluctance to go for regional or national business awards. There had to be a way to celebrate these inspirational stories.

Thus, the Purple Ink BNH Business Excellence Awards 2023 were created specifically for BNH’s members. Categories were carefully designed so businesses of all shapes, sizes, and sectors, from fledgling start-ups to seasoned veterans, could reflect on their accomplishments and gain recognition for their hard work and dedication. In this first year, we received more than 70 entries – which just goes to show what a dynamic and flourishing business community we have.

The gala dinner for this inaugural awards night was a resounding success. The atmosphere in North Harbour Stadium’s packed-out North Lounge was absolutely buzzing! Guests had dressed to impress as they celebrated the remarkable achievements of BNH’s members.
