Starting in March, Wilkinson Environmental Ltd will once again be in the area running a business environmental advisory programme. The Rosedale Business Pollution Prevention Programme is funded by the Upper Harbour Local Board and is designed to give independent expert advice to businesses to help them to manage their water pollution risks, avoiding accidentally polluting the Lucas Creek.
All rainwater from the Rosedale area drains into underground stormwater drains, into the Lucas Creek and the Waitemata Harbour. One of the biggest potential sources of pollution entering the creek and harbour is from incidents like spills on yards that get washed into stormwater drains, into the creek and eventually into the harbour.
Representatives from Wilkinson Environmental Ltd, as part of this business-friendly programme, will call in to local businesses to provide them with free advice on how to manage any water pollution risks.
Business North Harbour encourages all businesses approached to participate in the programme, to identify and reduce potential risks to themselves and the environment.
