Nights Works Notification, 12th – 20th August

NZTA has advised that work has been progressing well on the new Paul Matthews Road/Caribbean Drive intersection as well as the new SH1/SH18 westbound bridge.

To continue the works, further night works are required as follows;

  • Wednesday 12th August: Lifting bridge beams into place for the new SH1/SH18 westbound bridge
  • Sunday 16th & Monday 17th August – 6pm to 5am: Installation of storm water drains on the corner between SH18/Upper Harbour Highway & Caribbean Drive (Note: temporary traffic management between Caribbean Drive & SH1, both the westbound & eastbound lanes will be reduced to one lane & moved to one side).
  • Wednesday 19th & Thursday 20th August – 8pm to 5am: Removal of a traffic island, installing underground services & safety barriers at the Caribbean Drive intersection between SH18/Upper Harbour Highway & the Meadowood/Barbados Drive roundabout. (Note: temporary traffic management includes the closing of Caribbean Drive between SH18/Upper Harbour Highway & the Meadowood/Barbados Drive roundabout with detours in place. Between Caribbean Drive & SH1, both the westbound & eastbound lanes between will be reduce to one lane & moved to one side).
