Increases To Parking Infringement And Towage Fees From 1st October

Starting October 1, fines for parking violations will increase. The penalty for overstaying a meter by less than 30 minutes will rise from $12 to $20, while fines for parking on footpaths or blocking driveways will increase from $40 to $70. These changes are mandated by the Government as part of a crackdown on misuse of disabled parking, which will see fines for such violations soar from $150 to $750.

The new fees also reflect inflation adjustments to help local councils manage parking more effectively.
