Join the 140th Canton Fair Business Delegation

From Exhibition Visits to High-Efficiency Business Partnerships

Following the success of our previous Canton Fair programme, the Canton Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand is delighted to invite New Zealand entrepreneurs and professional buyers to join our 140th Canton Fair Business Delegation in Guangzhou this October.

During the 139th Canton Fair, the Chamber successfully organised a delegation of 54 New Zealand buyers across all three phases. Participants discovered a wide range of innovative products, connected directly with quality suppliers, and established highly productive business relationships.

For the 140th Canton Fair, our service programme has been comprehensively upgraded. The focus is shifting from simply “visiting the exhibition” to actively facilitating efficient business partnerships, targeted supplier connections, and valuable industry engagement.

In addition to attending Phase 1 of the Canton Fair from 15 to 19 October 2026, delegates will have opportunities to visit leading high-tech enterprises in the Greater Bay Area and gain firsthand insights into China’s rapid development in:

  • Smart manufacturing
  • New energy and energy storage
  • Electric vehicles
  • Photovoltaic technology
  • New energy batteries
  • Artificial intelligence

This carefully designed programme combines product sourcing, business matchmaking, industry visits, cultural experiences, and comprehensive logistical support.

Proposed Delegation Itinerary

13 October – Departure from New Zealand

Depart from New Zealand for Guangzhou.

Participants are encouraged to consider an overnight China Southern Airlines flight to help minimise jet lag and arrive in China the following morning refreshed and ready for business.

14 October – Arrival and Welcome Programme

Upon arrival in Guangzhou, delegates will receive a private airport transfer to the designated Canton Fair partner hotel.

Canton Fair buyer badges will be conveniently issued at the hotel, helping participants avoid unnecessary queues and administrative delays at the exhibition centre.

The afternoon programme will introduce delegates to Guangzhou’s local culture, followed by an official welcome dinner in the evening.

Participants are required to arrive in Guangzhou by 10:00 am on 14 October. For those wishing to arrive earlier, the Chamber can assist with arranging additional accommodation.

15 October – Canton Fair: Day One

The delegation will travel to the Canton Fair Complex in Pazhou for the opening day of Phase 1.

A dedicated guide will lead targeted visits to the Chamber’s pavilion and selected industry zones, helping delegates navigate the extensive exhibition more efficiently and identify products and suppliers relevant to their businesses.

A Pearl River night cruise and business dinner will be arranged in the evening, providing an opportunity to relax, network, and exchange insights with fellow delegates.

16 October – New Energy Industry Day

Delegates will continue targeted product sourcing and business matchmaking at the Canton Fair during the morning.

In the afternoon, the delegation will travel by private coach to visit leading new energy enterprises in the Greater Bay Area.

Depending on final arrangements and availability, these visits may include businesses specialising in:

  • Energy storage systems and equipment
  • Photovoltaic technologies
  • New energy batteries
  • Other emerging clean-energy solutions

Participants will have opportunities to learn about new technologies, explore potential partnerships, and connect directly with industry representatives.

17 October – Smart Manufacturing and Electric Vehicles

The morning will continue with targeted business matchmaking and supplier engagement at the Canton Fair.

In the afternoon, delegates will visit a leading new energy vehicle manufacturer, potentially including a smart manufacturing base operated by companies such as GAC AION or XPENG Motors.

The visit will provide an opportunity to tour a modern intelligent assembly line and exchange insights on innovation, automation, manufacturing efficiency, and international market strategies.

Final enterprise visits remain subject to confirmation and operational availability.

18 October – Artificial Intelligence and Innovation

Delegates will return to the Canton Fair in the morning for further product sourcing, supplier discussions, and business matchmaking.

In the afternoon, the programme will include a visit to leading artificial intelligence enterprises.

Participants will experience practical AI applications across commercial, industrial, and everyday-life scenarios, gaining a better understanding of how artificial intelligence is being integrated into products, services, manufacturing, and business operations in China.

19 October – Independent Business Activities and Departure

Participants may arrange independent transport for factory visits, attend private supplier meetings, or use the day for additional sourcing and business activities in Guangzhou.

The official delegation programme will conclude following the close of the fair. Airport transfer services will be provided for participants returning to New Zealand.

Participation in enterprise visits and organised business matchmaking activities is entirely voluntary.

Delegates may select activities based on their individual industries, sourcing priorities, and business objectives.

Travellers should confirm that they satisfy all applicable entry requirements before booking flights and should carry documents supporting the purpose of their visit, such as flight details, accommodation bookings, and relevant business or event information.
